About the Inn

Our house was built in 1925 by a Mennonite cabinet-maker and was a private home until it was sold to Aussies Richard & Margaret Mason in 1986. They moved here to Lancaster to open a B&B. They bought the house, renovated it and named it the Australian Walkabout Inn. The 2nd innkeepers bought the inn from the Masons in 2001 and changed the name slightly to the “Walkabout Inn”. The 3rd owners then purchased the inn from them in 2007 and brought back the word “Australian” into the name. While the name has changed a bit over the years, the level of service and comfort we strive to provide will remain consistently high.
